KATA SHOOT-OUT
When I was looking for how to generate a strong presence for the Kata camera bag brand at exhibitions, events and POS, an idea came up to produce a pop-up event that invites bystanders to take part in a fun and challenging experience and be exposed to Kata's special products.
To this end, my team and I created the KATA SHOOT-OUT event.
The product chosen to lead the experience was a unique camera bag that allows the photographer to draw the camera and shoot in mere seconds.
The idea (as you can see in the videos) is a Wild West shootout-style competition between a real person/photographer and a virtual photographer displayed on a TV screen mounted on a full-sized designed cart, made of wood. The participant received the camera bag with a real camera inside. When the buzzer went off they needed to draw and shoot a picture of the cowboy - the virtual photographer on screen - who also draws a camera from the same kind of bag.
A computerized system we developed especially for the event, checked which of the two took the first shot. If the real shooter drew before the cowboy - he or she would win a Kata bag worth $200, on the spot.
The event was a great success and created long queues in all the exhibitions and events in which it was held. In addition to the large wooden cart we also created 10 smaller stands that were sent to company distributors around the world.
In the second film you can see such a position in action, in an exhibition in Thailand.
