MY ART
LOCAL MATERIAL 

My passion for wood began when I was a graphic design student in Haifa. During all my summer vacations I worked for an carpenter artist who specialized in constructing pergolas and tiled roofs for private homes. There, on the rooftops of Haifa facing the blue Mediterranean, I fell in love with this raw material.

 

Over the years my love for designing furniture, ornaments and lighting fixtures has deepened. In the workshop I set up in my backyard, I began to experiment with techniques and other materials such as iron and concrete.

 

In 2018 I established the brand "Local Material" which operates non-commercially.

The guiding principle of "Local Material" is the use of recycled or collected (reclaimed) wood. In most cases the creation process begins with the collection of raw material in the forest near my home, finding treasures in local landfills or stuff that neighbors leave on the sidewalk to be thrown away. From there my imagination soars, and the path opens up to new creations.
